Italy's European Championship 2016 qualifier against Croatia was halted for around ten minutes during the second half as dozens of flares and firecrackers thrown onto the pitch by fans filled the stadium with smoke and set off several small fires in Milan’s San Siro stadium on Sunday.
The game was halted in the 75th minute as emergency services took to the pitch to extinguish the small fires and remove debris. Riot police were deployed inside the stadium following the incident, filling the stands holding the Croatian fans.
